Welcome to The Yorke Suite, the largest and most character-filled apartment at Marske Hall Country Estate in North Yorkshire. Set across 155 sqm on the second floor, this grand residence is not only spacious but carries a powerful story of compassion and change.
In the early 1800s, under the ownership of Timothy Hutton, Marske Hall opened its doors to two young boys, Richmond and Yorke, who had escaped a life of forced servitude. Hutton’s decision to welcome them into his home became a quiet but meaningful act of resistance in the early abolition movement, and The Yorke Suite is named in honour of that legacy.
